Mountains or beach? That's a tough one for me, but as you can see, I love the mountains. We have spent countless hours hiking. We even named our first son after the mountain my husband proposed to me on. Our kids grew up hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Adirondack High Peaks. Now they are off on their own hikes and out-hike us!  One even lives out in Colorado and we love to visit!  Living in the Carolinas, we also love a good beach trip, preferably Kiawah, with its Spanish moss-filled trails. Painting, especially landscapes, brings me such joy! I do my best to capture the beauty I see in my unique style. I hope my art sparks memories of your own favorite trips or special places.

As for my art background I studied Art and Education and graduated with a Bachelors degree from Calvin University. I have always loved art and loved every minute of my art history classes and studio time. While raising our kids I have mostly taught art and painted part time. Recently I have been able to focus on my own painting career full time! It is so fun to put all the things I have been teaching my students into practice in my own studio. I am so thankful to have the time and space to finally jump into creating.

My Favorite artists are N.C. Wyeth and Edward Hopper! I could study their work for days!
